DiD - Doula in Deutschland e.V.

Seit Februar 2021 bin ich zertifizierte DiD - Doula.

Birth attendance - Geburtsbegleitung, Garmisch, 2020

Hi Carolin!

I am eternally grateful to have had Carolin by my side during the birth of my second child. This was my first experience with a doula, and it went so well that I wish I’d had her there for the birth of my first child.

Carolin came to my side soon after my water broke at home. She stayed with me for the hours I wanted to labor at home. Her foot and back massages during those contractions were so helpful and soothing. I was able to labor at home in peace.

When it was time to go to the hospital, Carolin was there for me through every gripping contraction. I’ll never forget her long bear hug right in front of the entrance to the hospital, when I had a contraction so strong that I needed just to be still and let her hold me.

Her calm and confident presence during my entire labor was truly essential to my labor going well, I believe. She was always there with good ideas to help me cope with each contraction while also letting me guide the experience based on what I felt like I wanted to do at each moment. It was a beautiful relationship that I wish for every mother in labor.

Carolin also was a great help to my husband. She was reassuring to him and I could tell he felt more confident in the entire process because she was there. This is not only a relief for the woman, but the partner as well!

Being an American expat, with no family available to come to my child’s birth, it was extra special to have Carolin there. She was able to take the place of my mother, who couldn’t be present. That was so meaningful to me and to my mother as well.

Doulas are angels and Carolin is absolutely one of them! Her kind and calm nature along with her strong and confident actions are exactly what you need by your side when giving birth to your precious baby. I can’t recommend her enough!

Thank you again, Carolin! 😘

Birth attendance - Geburtsbegleitung. Tegernsee, 2019

I am very grateful you were there with us and hope you can help more women :-).

I knew I wanted a Doula to help me during childbirth and I was thrilled to find Carolin.

During pre-birth meetings, she gave my husband and I many topics to think about, which helped us mentally prepare for the birth. The day I started labor, Carolin came to our home and helped make me comfortable in the early stages of contractions. At the hospital, Carolin's support was even more important! She did not interfere with the process in any way but helped communicate my needs and wishes to the hospital staff.
The pressure she put on my hips made the pain almost disappear. Because she was there my husband could rest and take breaths.
My labor was more than 30 hours and she stayed until the end.
After the birth she came for a postpartum visit. This was a nice opportunity to talk about and process the birth.
The letter she wrote my son about his birth was also very meaningful. If you are pregnant, especially with your first child, I highly recommend hiring a doula, and I can highly recommend Carolin.
